Instructor PHICHET REUNGSRI

Phichet was born and raised in Thailand, where he developed a deep appreciation and passion for art early in life. His initial inspiration came from the natural beauty of the countryside, such as sugarcane fields, rice paddies, mountains, and the sea, as well as the shapes and textures of materials used in his family’s construction business, like concrete, sand, cement, wood, and various surfaces. As he continued his education, he chose to study jewelry design at The Golden Jubilee Royal Goldsmith College within the Grand Palace and later specialized in metalwork and jewelry design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Poh-Chang Campus, which is recognized as the oldest art institution in Thailand. Later on, Phichet had the opportunity to live and work in New York, USA, where he also pursued further studies at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Computer-Aided Jewelry Design and Gemology. His career began as a jewelry designer, and he was sent to France for an internship, where he had the chance to work with skilled European jewelry designers. This experience ignited his desire to travel and learn about the cultures, lifestyles, and architecture of various countries in Asia, Europe, and America, which he would later incorporate into his jewelry designs. Throughout his 20-year career, Phichet rose to positions such as Head Jewelry Designer, Design Manager, Director of Design and Product Development, where he oversaw international production, and eventually Director of Sourcing, managing design teams from various countries for the companies he worked with. As a part of the Jewelry Design Studio team, Phichet is committed to sharing his knowledge and experience to enhance the potential of new jewelry designers, entrepreneurs, and design managers, helping them gain new perspectives and skills. Phichet is also passionate about helping others to create a better living environment. He volunteers to assist the elderly in using modern smartphone technology and teaches children how to create art from recycled materials. His aim is to find ways to repurpose plastic waste, which poses a long-term threat to our planet.
